A Legacy That Began in 2003

Alberta Whisky Cake was first created in 2003 by Kamla, a woman deeply connected to Alberta, community, hospitality, and the art of making people feel cared for.

What began as a handcrafted cake quickly became something much bigger.

Kamla believed that food could tell a story. She believed a gift should feel personal. Thoughtful. Memorable. She poured incredible care into every detail — from the rich ingredients to the wrapping, presentation, and experience of sharing a cake with someone you appreciated.

To her, Alberta Whisky Cake was never “just dessert.”

It was a heartfelt gift from the Alberta prairies.

Over the years, Alberta Whisky Cake became known not only for its unmistakable flavour, but for the feeling it created. Whether shared around a family table, gifted to a client, brought to a celebration, or sent as a thank-you, the cakes became part of meaningful moments in people’s lives.

Kamla herself was also deeply woven into Alberta’s entrepreneurial and creative community. She was proud to support local business, local craftsmanship, and Alberta-made products, including serving as a judge for the Made in Alberta Awards.

Everything she built reflected the values she carried: generosity, excellence, artistry, community, and genuine human connection.

A New Chapter

In April of 2025, Alberta Whisky Cake entered a new chapter.

Following Kamla’s passing, her sons Ryan and Jager made the decision to relaunch the company in her honour — not simply to preserve what she created, but to continue building the vision she believed in so deeply.

This relaunch comes from a place of immense love and pride.

Every step forward is guided by the desire to honour Kamla’s memory while carrying Alberta Whisky Cake into the future with care, creativity, and excitement.

This new website was designed with that same intention.

You’ll see nods to Alberta’s landscape, heritage, artistry, and warmth throughout the experience. The goal was to create something that feels grounded, elevated, welcoming, and unmistakably Albertan — much like the cakes themselves.

We also wanted this website to feel personal.

Because Alberta Whisky Cake has always been personal.

It has always been about connection, gratitude, celebration, and creating moments people remember.
